Events Calendar
Students are often curious about the wide variety of practice areas within the field of business law. The primary objective at events is twofold: to allow students to discover what a career in business law entails, and introduce students to practitioners who can help guide them towards their future careers.
The events and programs we offer are geared towards student interest. Members are encouraged to bring forward ideas and, if they wish, spearhead events with full BLAD support. In this way, students have the ability to control the kind of the experience they have with the society and are provided with a vehicle to practice their leadership abilities.

Speaker Series Throughout the year BLAD will host speakers to discuss different areas of business law with students. Topics may include understanding the practical processes of transactions, such as the fundamental steps of an M&A transaction, a discussion of the macro economic climate and its effect on legal practices, and a conversation about the current ethical issues in business law. Networking Events BLAD hosts networking events designed to foster communication between legal professionals and students. The events will have a more casual social atmosphere than the large-scale firm dinners and events that students often attend during the interview process. BLAD’s goal is to create an environment where students and professionals can become acquainted informally and develop relationships based on interests and personal connections. This may be accomplished through wine and cheeses, in firm lunches, or casual outings. Social Events BLAD organizes a variety of social events that are motivated by student interest with the goal of encouraging student engagement. Proposed social events for the up-coming year include a moot on a current legal issue, a movie night, and a golf outing. |
